It's great to have you here! I'm Maiko Andréo – a jazz vocalist and vocal coach from Berlin. I've been sharing my passion for jazz with others for many years – both on stage and in the classroom. Born in Tbilisi, the vibrant capital of Georgia, I was influenced early on by the multifaceted harmonies and rich sounds of Georgian music. This musical diversity continues to accompany me and informs my work as a singer and teacher.

Even as a child, I loved to sing and improvise. At the age of four, I playfully discovered scatting in imaginative English – my first little journey into the world of jazz. My parents' jazz records and an old record player in my kids' room were my constant companions. Alongside this, I studied classical piano for seven years – a solid foundation that strengthened my musical understanding.

In 1995, I moved to Cologne to study business administration – but my heart always belonged to music. In 2005, I finally found my home in Berlin. Here, the Jazzschule Berlin, under the direction of guitarist Claus Rückbeil, opened doors to a new musical world for me: intensive collaboration with fantastic instructors like Claus Rückbeil, Anders Grop, and Tanja Siebert, as well as numerous performances, helped me develop my own musical language.

Since February 2014, I have regularly performed on stage with renowned jazz musicians – whether with Claus Rückbeil or Giorgio Crobu on guitar, Joel Holmes and Thibault Falk on piano, or Giuseppe Bottiglieri and Anders Grop on double bass. These encounters continually inspire me.

In addition to my artistic work, teaching has become a central part of my life: Since 2020, the teaching team at the Jazzschule Berlin has been my home base, where I developed the online course "Vocal Jam" together with colleagues. I give private singing lessons, lead workshops, and provide individual support to singers on their journey.

As a certified vocal coach for "Modern Vocal Training," my focus is on making you more confident vocally – with solid technique combined with stage experience and musical freedom. Together we will work on vocal technique, building your jazz (or any popular style) repertoire, typical jazz phrasing, sense of rhythm, storytelling, interpretation, as well as improvisation and scat singing.

My goal is to support you in finding your own authentic voice and letting it resonate freely and confidently.
